ELLD: WHEN
Weds July 31
7-9pm
The Cart & Horse, 1 Maryland Point
(Maryland tube, Elizabeth Line)
----------------------------------------------------
This week East London Life Drawing returns to The Cart & Horse's purpose built downstairs music venue for another relaxed and focussed group session.
This week's model, making his debut at ELLD, is musician, artist and teacher Nick (pictured). The group photos on this page are from recent sessions, with different models! But that's how we roll.
As always with ELLD, this is a very safe and respectful space for artists and model alike. Everybody is welcome, you don't have to be LGBTQIA+ to join us, but you should probably consider giving it a whirl some time.
The Cart & Horses is the historic pub where heritage metallers Iron Maiden played their first gig, so you MUST be prepared to play air guitar before and after speaking, and potentially rock out to some gnarly riffs if asked (NB: we are in charge of the vibes in the studio and they will be strictly chill).
All materials are provided. As we have recently rebooted the group, all equipment is new, from the art boards to the pencils, paper, masking tape and erasers!
You can redeem your prebooked sessions at any time, and if your plans change we can let you join a later event, but do let me know each week if you plan to attend so that I can keep track of numbers and fill all available seats.
We're a training session not a contest, so remember you ARE good enough to draw with us - we learn by making mistakes, not by avoiding them! And I'm here to help you with anything you want to improve - just ask. We're a mix of creative professionals and total novices, all beavering away to refine our skills in a quietly focused and productive weekly session. Drawing from life is a skill you maintain constantly; you've never completely finished learning how to represent reality in two dimensions, it just keeps getting better...
